fNIRS Endpoint Investigation: A Potential Non-Invasive BioMarker
ACD is making progress to prepare our community for potential clinical trials. Drs. Michela Fagiolini, Laura Baroncelli, and Irina Anselm launched a study in spring of 2024 at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School to study fNIRS. ACD has supported this study by providing equipment, thanks to a generous grant from the Ludwick Family Foundation, hosting fNIRS testing at the 2024 symposium, and once again we will host testing at the 2026 symposium.
The study investigates ‘fNIRS’ technology and assesses correlations between fNIRS data and cognitive function in CCDS patients. The objective is to determine if fNIRS can function as a non-invasive biomarker for CCDS clinical trials.

fNIRS at the Symposium
There are still some spots open for fNIRS at the 2026 CCDS Scientific + Patient Symposium. We encourage you to contact the email above soon, before all the spots are filled. *Patients who have had two fNIRS tests performed are not eligible to participate.
