Meeting Themes for April 20 Sibshops:
12:00-12:45 ET youngest group (ages 5-7): Understanding difference: Strengths & Weaknesses
This activity will help participants acknowledge that EVERYONE has strengths and weaknesses. A theme that we will be focusing on throughout the session. It will provide our young sibs permission – from the start – to explore their siblings’ challenges and joys with all of the nuance. Whether that might be flattering or not so flattering. They will also reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses. This will be a theme for the day!
1:00-2:00 ET middle group (ages 8-12): Special Guest Visitor – “Aunt Blabby”
Since it was first presented in the early 1980s, Dear Aunt Blabby has been the most durable of Sibshops discussion activities. Aunt Blabby, an advice columnist, receives letters from sibs who have concerns similar to those that those in our Sibshops group might experience. Because she is not a sibling herself, Aunt Blabby needs help from experts to answer questions posed by her correspondents. We are looking forward to giving our Sibshoppers the opportunity to offer their creative solutions to help Aunt Blabby respond to these concerns LIVE! Sibs won’t want to miss the visit from our special guest!
